Here’s what happened in June!

In animal news, there were lots of new faces, some temporary and some permanent. Eight dogs arrived – a large breed dog that went to foster care, a large breed dog that was adopted, a beagle that has been adopted, an elderly Pomeranian, a scared mixed breed dog, and three special needs dogs that can’t walk on their own. The three kittens from last month have been adopted, and two more arrived – one was brought in by a rescuer and the other came right up to AnimO crying for help. Both are in need of a forever home and should be placed together. One wild swallow with head trauma arrived, but it was not able to recover. Two crows came in, the adult succumbed to its injuries but the baby is growing strong! Two hamsters were brought in from a pet store that deemed them unsellable, one of them has been adopted.

For foster or adoption inquiries, please email adoptions@animosanctuary.org. There are kittens, dogs, and a bonded pair of lovebirds available to the right applicants.

In personnel news, the AnimO team is thrilled to welcome Gemma as AnimO’s General Manager! She is working closely with Mina to get to know all the ins and outs of the sanctuary and taking on both administrative and communications responsibilities. If you ask a question on social media or email an adoption inquiry, there’s a good chance she’ll be the one who writes back.

There is a new Facebook group for people fostering or interested in fostering for AnimO. This is to help connect people who can assist each other in case of travel plans, transportation, or just advice and support. The AnimO Foster Families and Friends group page can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1137318207601459

PAWer’s Wish is offering a pet taxi route between AnimO in Chiba to Misawa Air Force Base, and can stop at requested locations along the way. This route is named Bonnie’s Bus after Bonnie the Beagle, who was the first dog to be transported along this route. Learn more here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/Ap7M5NR9C5bYqBph/

Thank you to everyone on the Patreon, as well as everyone else that sent or brought packages of supplies. Every single donation is appreciated!

If you know someone who wants to support AnimO, or if you want to help more, there are lots of ways!
