Here’s what happened in June!
Mina update

Mina is still in treatment and unfortunately has entered the phase where hair falls out. It’s a difficult time, but she continues to have an upbeat and positive attitude and is supported by her family, staff, and community. Her dad even came to visit!
Animal updates

Ash the fox has been rehabilitated and released into the wild, and a second fox was relocated a couple weeks later to the same area for its own safety.
A baby woodpecker was raised by AnimO staff after its mother was taken by a predator. When it was strong enough, it was released back into the area where it was rescued.
A new crow named José joined the flock for rehabilitation. He is young and came with a head injury affecting the use of one of his eyes, but he is doing well!

One of our volunteers had a breakthrough with Squid, our resident tenrec. Squid’s previous owner had been instructed to only feed him guinea pig and rabbit pellets, but tenrecs are insectivores in the wild. We tried all kinds of insects in all kinds of ways, and our volunteer Alun found a way to get Squid to eat his first insect! Since then, Squid has been steadily moving to more natural food habits.
Sanctuary updates

There is new merch in the shop! These feature sketches by Mina and the first in a series of ukiyo-e style illustrations by Kristy of Black Cherry Kiss, all featuring sanctuary residents. Unfortunately there have been several scam stores popping up as well, so if you are buying AnimO merch, please check to be sure you are buying from the real shop: animo-sanctuary-shop.fourthwall.com

All our adoptable dogs have been adopted! This frees up resources for AnimO to focus on exotic animals, wild animals, and others that not all organizations are equipped to help.
Thank you to everyone on the Patreon, as well as everyone else that sent or brought packages of supplies. Every single donation is appreciated!
If you know someone who wants to support AnimO or Mina's cancer treatment journey, there are lots of ways!
