Here’s what happened in March!

New faces at AnimO

We had a few new faces, including a pigeon, two geckos, a tortoise, and a rabbit. Pogi the pigeon was brought in after a predator attack and he is recovering well! One gecko was severely underweight and unhealthy but is doing much better now. The other gecko is missing a back leg and isn’t eating well, but the heat and humidity are set correctly and we are doing our best. The tortoise is tiny, and deemed unsellable due to an imperfection in its shell pattern (a small extra scute).

It took a couple of months, but Kevin and Barbie the pigs are friends now! We finally caught them cuddling.

Milly, post surgery

Milly the shiba was born with two deformed back legs. She has had two surgeries to fix one leg, and soon the vet will be able to work on the other one, hopefully just one surgery. If all goes well, she’ll be able to walk on her own when she returns to the sanctuary!

AnimO will be relocating to our own parcel of land with brand new facilities next month, so we will be able to triple our volunteer capacity. We will need people who can handle renovations, building, and heavy lifting as we make the transfer, as well as people who can help with animal care. If you’re ready to join us and be part of something meaningful, send us a message at info@animosanctuary.org.

Thank you to everyone on the Patreon, as well as everyone else that sent or brought packages of supplies. Every single donation is appreciated!

If you know someone who wants to support AnimO, or if you want to help more, there are lots of ways!
