Here’s what happened in August!

Hitman the gosling

A new face is Hitman the gosling, she is less than two months old and has a splayed leg that we are trying to rehabilitate so she can live a normal life.

Lupin

Lupin, a young husky, arrived reeking of his own waste. It took twelve shampoos to get the smell out! He was also quite thin, but he has been putting on weight since he has been at AnimO. He has a mild form of a neurological condition called cerebellar hypoplasia so he wobbles a bit, and he’s deaf, but neither of those things slow him down. He’s even learning sign language! He is also incredibly charming. So charming, in fact, that he completely derailed an attempt to make a video about his needs. https://youtu.be/1X4QP2g1QBM?si=06mTV-PrLg8E8l-I

Russel Kuro the crow has technically been released into the wild, he isn’t staying inside an enclosure. We mostly just check to make sure he’s sleeping in a safe place at night. He could go anywhere, but prefers to hang out with Ashley on AnimO grounds.

Rose (darker) and Hamlett (lighter) before and after

Rose and Hamlett the pigs are like completely different animals compared to when they first arrived! The new lifestyle suits them.

Christmas the lovebird supervised the contractor's visit

The AC units that came with the house stopped working and have been quite an expensive adventure to replace. We are grateful that we don’t need to pay rent, but upkeep on a house is intense!

Yoji (left) and Mina (right)

Our volunteer Yoji has rejoined the team as a long-term live-in staff sooner than expected, and he’s been such a huge help already! He stayed with us for a while earlier in the year and has been invaluable. He is a handyman, an artist, and adores all the animals in our care.

Thank you to everyone on the Patreon, as well as everyone else that sent or brought packages of supplies. Every single donation is appreciated!

If you know someone who wants to support AnimO, or if you want to help more, there are lots of ways!
