AnimO has moved to new land! This one is not a temporary location, AnimO has purchased this property. The AnimO vision is coming true! There is a lot of space and a lot of potential here. For example, the hawk mews is now a full barn where they can free fly when they are not being flown outdoors. We are busy constructing several other new enclosures as well.

Red necked grebe – rescued, rehabilitated, and released
Red necked grebe – rescued, rehabilitated, and released

A wild red necked grebe (water bird) was found on a beach, and it was too weak to hold its head up. The rescuer brought it in for rehabilitation and named it Kibo. Kibo responded well to fluids overnight and was released back into the wild the next day. We love a success story like this!

Speaking of success stories, Pogi the pigeon is also fully recovered from his injuries. He is ready to be released, but we are waiting a little while after the move to release him. That way if he wants to come back, he will be able to. One of our plans is to build a pigeon loft to let our growing flock fly free, with a rehab room built in to allow them and pigeons in recovery to see each other. Pigeons readily accept new flock members, so if rehabbed pigeons can’t be brought back to their original area, they will have a new flock that they are already familiar with.

Ginny the gecko is still underweight but is looking better! You can see the weight gain in her tail.

Milly the shiba

Milly the shiba had her second surgery on the first deformed leg. It was more complicated than anticipated, but she is doing great! She will be returning to AnimO soon.

If you know someone who wants to support AnimO, or if you want to help more, there are lots of ways!
